Sanbenedetto packaging

The new Sleek San Benedetto Tea cans tell a story of love and a journey of discovery to the Orient.

Packaging

Proposal 1 – ‘A love story’

Starting from the pay-off ‘I love you’ (provided by the customer) we tried to develop a storytelling that could exist on the individual cans and at the same time develop with their union: to tell a love story by overcoming the physical singularity and narrative individuality of the can. The lemon character sends a love message (a heart-shaped paper aeroplane) to the beloved, peach character, who receives it; an apparently simple idea but very complex in its realisation. The strategy aims to combine the practical side with a playful aspect capable of achieving user-generated content thanks to the hashtag #unastoriadamore.

Proposal 2 – ‘A view of the East’

For the oriental theme provided by the client, we imagined the cans as windows into the origins of tea, bringing a glimpse of the East to Italian consumers. The illustration shows a sudden encounter with an oriental landscape: Indian for the lemon flavor and Japanese for the peach. The leaves blend into the solid color of the can, breaking the surface and opening a new story. Exploration is the key idea of our concept, inviting the consumer to take an active role — for a moment becoming an explorer of distant lands, a pioneer who admires the landscape and feels part of it.
